Tryout packet:
This competitive dance team specializes in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Pom, while traveling to competitions in the area and outside the Fox Cities. In order to be a member of this team, you must have dedication, time, and an open schedule. All routines will be judged and performed at schools. We compete with WACPC for the season of 2025-2026. Tryouts will take place June 24th - June 26th. A parents meeting will take place April 3rd which is required for the team. Everyone is welcome, including beginners.
Tryout days are June 24th, 25th and 26th.
If a tryout day is missed with a 24 hour notice a makeup day can be made, if we get a no show you will not be allowed to continue with the season.
Tryouts will contain: A pom mix (30-40 secs), Splits, Kicks, Toe Touch, A turn, Single Turn, Leap. We will allow half splits, kicks, and toe touches. We will work on those more during conditioning. Conditioning is optional but it is best to make those so you don't miss out on 1 on 1 help.
You will have 3 judges watching you. 1 will watch your body dynamics, 2nd one will watch how much of the routine/stunts and counts you know and the 3rd judge will watch facials/energy and count hitting.
Tryout Practices/Pre-Tryout Practices: Black athletic clothing, Dance shoes are preferred but socks are acceptable if you do not have any. No Jewelry please! Bring a water bottle and all paperwork that is due by the deadlines given in this tryout packet.
Tryout Day: A pair of black, fitted shorts or leggings and a black shirt with NO PRINT on it. Shirts should be tucked in (or fitted) and stomachs should NOT be visible. Please wear a sports bra under your shirt. Hair should be pulled back and makeup should be applied on this day. If you wear glasses, you will need to put in contacts or dance without your glasses. It is our job to make you look as similar as possible. Glasses will not be allowed during practices, performances or competitions.
The following criteria will be considered during judging:
Dance Ability and Rhythm- able to complete steps, in control and on beat.
Knowledge of Routine- Are you able to perform it confidently with good knowledge?
Precision and Form- sharp movements, full extensions.
Jumps- good height, pointed toes, straight legs.
Turns- solid “landing”, pulled up through torso area, head spots.
Smile and Audience Appeal- Do you appear to be having fun?
Appearance- neatly and appropriately dressed, including makeup and hair.
Mandatory Skills:
All dancers must know these skills before coming into their new season:
Leap (Petite+ must know firebird)
Kicks (L, Kick Line, Left, Right)
Splits (Left, Right, Middle)

Turns (A turn, single turn) (Petite+ must know double)
